Draft Apparatus

Below are the drafts of the apparatus that is the main reason for this blog. The work is far from complete as there are only 14 editions consulted to date. I will upload each book of the GNT as I complete the editing and tweaking process. Once Revelation is completed I will move on to consulting other editions and adding their variants.

Note, there is absolutely no typesetting or 'prettifying' of these documents, they are just draft printouts directly from Paratext. I will worry about that when I have more editions in the apparatus.

I'm looking for feedback on the apparatus - primarily:

  • Is it relatively easy to understand?
  • Are there better, less divisive names for the major families than TR/Byz/Alx?
  • Should I use superscript for editions within the families?
  • Anything else that is relevant to this work.

Also any tips to finding editions that I can use that are not already included are greatly appreciated. I will put up a list of editions I have used and those I have access to on a blog post.

Note: The order given here is that used in Tregelles in his Greek New Testament rather than the more familiar order found in most English translations. This is similar to other Greek New Testaments such as the Robinson Pierpont Byzantine GNT. The software I am using follows the Western order (Gospels, Acts, Pauline letters longest to shortest, Hebrews, General Epistles, Revelation) and so rather than flipping backwards and forwards, I will follow this order and post drafts as they are completed. The finished product will have the books in the order below as Tregelles published it.
